The Palazzo Pistilli Museum in Campobasso is an intimate and cozy art museum. Six powder-blue rooms house the art collection that Michele Praitano, a local collector, assembled over more than fifty years of research in Italy and abroad.
This collection, along with those of Giovanni and Giuseppe Ottavio Eliseo, also hosted in the museum, offers curious visitors the chance to take a delicate step into 19th-century Naples, a time when art and antique shops were frequented by the Molise bourgeoisie.
Alongside the paintings, the museum features a few sculptures, including a stunning 20th-century replica of the Venus de’ Medici, Neapolitan majolica, and hand-painted 18th-century ceramics.
Enhancing the museum experience is a multimedia room dedicated to Molise artists, where visitors can explore their works and the masterpieces displayed in buildings and churches throughout the region.
