In honor of Saint Anthony of Padua, the Sagra delle Sagnitelle takes place in Castellino del Biferno, transforming the atmosphere of this small Molisan village.
The star of the evening is the traditional handmade pasta, served with the so-called “bugiardo” sauce—made with tomatoes and cheese—which is offered to visitors free of charge.
During the event, you can witness the traditional Pizzicantò ritual: a towering human pyramid made up of thirteen volunteers, who must move through the village streets while the pyramid spins on itself, trying to avoid “il botto,” the dramatic collapse of the tower.
