About Angioine Nights

A step back in time to the medieval era? It’s not a dream, but something you can experience in Colletorto during two evenings in mid-August.

The Angioine Nights, which started in the 1990s, aim to bring that period to life for the many attendees and to pay tribute to Queen Joanna I of Anjou, who left so much to the town, first and foremost the tower that defines the town’s skyline.

On the evenings of August 11 and 12, the Gruppo Storico Giovanna I d’Angiò organizes parades in period costumes, raffles, crossbow tournaments, the goose race, and, on the final day, after the grand procession, the burning of the castle at midnight.

This event is followed with great interest and participation not only by the locals but also by many historical groups from other parts of Italy.

An authentic experience to be enjoyed alongside the warm people of Colletorto, while also tasting the excellent local products.
