About Museum of Misteri

Il Museum of the Mysteries is the real and spiritual starting point of the centuries-old Corpus Domini procession in Campobasso.

It can be considered a community museum where the city’s neighborhoods prepare in the months leading up to the festival to organize this renowned event.

The museum preserves the ingegni, 13 wooden and metal structures created by Paolo Saverio Di Zinno in the mid-18th century. Brought to life by costumed participants portraying sacred scenes, these structures are carried on shoulders in a procession through the streets of the city, beginning their journey right from the museum on Via Trento.

The museum also houses and exhibits period costumes and historical footage, which can be viewed in a dedicated room with approximately 40 seats.
